CPR Re-Certification

Basic CPR - Chest Compressions
Learn the latest CPR standards by taking a re-certification course.

Our training partners proudly offer workplace-approved CPR re-certification courses. These courses are designed for candidates that need to renew expiring or previously expired CPR certificates. Renewal courses are significantly shorter and cheaper than the original full courses. Candidates who successfully complete a workplace-approved re-cert course will receive a certificate that is of equal value to the original course certificate. Certification is valid for 3 years and meets government and legislative standards for most provinces.

The following CPR certificates can be re-certified through a workplace-approved renewal course:

  • CPR level “A” and AED
  • CPR level “C” and AED
  • CPR level “C” for health care providers, also known as CPR “HCP” and AED.

Prerequisites For CPR Re-Certification:

In order to take a renewal course, candidates must meet 3 prerequisites. The eligibility requirements for a re-cert course in the majority of Canadian provinces are:

  • Candidates must have completed a re-cert course or a full course within the past 3 years.
  • CPR Training Classroom

Candidates must have completed a full course or a re-cert course through a credible provider. Credible providers include the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Johns Ambulance, St Mark James, and the Lifesaving Society. Certificates obtained through online CPR courses are not available for re-certification. Re-certification of other agencies’ certifications is not possible in Ontario.

  • Candidates must have completed the previous CPR course or re-cert course through a Canadian provider. Certificates are nationally accredited but not internationally. Candidates that have received certificates outside of Canada will have to take the full course.

Additional Notes:
