Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training is a two-day course that teaches participants the latest CPR rescue techniques as well as teamwork skills in critical care and life-saving environments. Typical participants of this course include healthcare professionals that work in or manage workplaces that involve cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular and life-threatening emergencies. Participants include individuals that work in intensive care units, critical care units, and emergency response. This course takes approximately 12 hours of class time to complete and successful participants receive an American Heart Association (ACLS) certificate that is valid for 2 years.
What is the Course Content of an AHA ACLS Course?
Participants that enroll in this course will learn the latest CPR, AED, and life support techniques associated with:
- Artificial respiration
- Cardiovascular care
- The use of barrier devices such as bag-valve masks
- Management of cardiac and respiratory arrest
- Recognition and management of peri-arrest
- Airway management
- Stroke and other cardiovascular emergencies
- Respiratory emergencies include partial and full obstructions (choking)
- Working in a team environment and team dynamics
