Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training is a two day course that teaches participants the latest CPR rescue techniques as well as team work skills in critical care and life saving environments. Typical participants of this course include healthcare professionals that work in or manage workplaces that involve cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular and life threatening emergencies. Participants include individuals that work in intensive care unites, critical care units and in emergency response. This course takes approximately 12 hours of class time to complete and successful participants receive a American Heart Association (ACLS) certificate that is valid for 2 years.
What is the Course Content of a AHA ACLS Course?
Participants that enrol in this course will learn the latest CPR, AED and life support techniques associated with:
- Artificial respiration
- Cardiovascular care
- The use of barrier devices such as bag-valve masks
- Management of cardiac and respiratory arrest
- Recognition and management of peri-arrest
- Airway management
- Stroke and other cardiovascular emergencies
- Respiratory emergencies including partial and full obstructions (choking)
- Working in a team environment and team dynamics
